just watched the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage--all about automotive anarchy, has a short segment with Mike Burroughs & Rusty Slammington
also James May's new show "Build a Car" 3part thing on automotive manufacturing in the UK follows a new MINI all the way thru build process , and covers a lot of other cool crap with other makers there

Both of those shows are great. I believe that Jay Leno's Garage is the show that he always wanted to do. It's always filled with great info and fun. Magnus' show is very similar to Jay's so we'll see how it ages in the coming episodes. I think that these two shows and Wheeler Dealers are possible the most honest automotive shows at the moment.

Those, and I like the honesty of FantomWorks, it's good to see how many hours and real costs of some of this type of work.
Many fabricators can do good work, not many are willing to admit to the fact that you'll be putting $50k into a car worth $20k at best.

FantomWorks is okay, but I have been taken back by some of their work in older shows. Seemed like they made some things harder than they should have (like the Morgan they worked on). But, definitely a straight-up show otherwise. The hydroplane build was pretty cool too.
Leno's show is very good. Looking forward to it more and more... When does Magnus' show air? |

I almost forgot about FantomWorks, it's a good show, but it seems that a lot of the issues are staged, like when they were drilling into the windshield and it shattered all over. One show that is fun to watch, almost a guilty pleasure is Graveyard Carz- yes with a "z". That crazy dude knows so much about old Mopars that he got his own show. He is really odd, and I think that helps combat the shows staged scenes. Check it out, it's really informative for that useless knowledge about where the ac belt sticker goes on a 71 Charger....

Graveyard Carz is nutty, the lead/owner is absolutely the Rain Man of Mopar... I do enjoy it from time to time.

that dude on Graveyard is certifiable--but god almighty does he know every little tiny bit of the most anal info about a Mopar ever!..Have to say if I had one to restore, he'd definitely get it (IF I could afford it...)
