I love that movie...

Maf is acting up. Ordered a refurb and will be installed by end of day.
I've never used a multimeter this much on a car before.

cascading failures for the win/loss...

it all started with an ICV from an inline 6 e30, replaced with the correct one.
from there i noticed some rerouted hoses along with ghetto lines from autozone, replaced and corrected for the most part.
which led to a new hose from AFM to throttle body.
idle was still acting weird, then realized AFM was toast. replaced last friday, drove it all day, awesome.
wouldn't start that night after dinner
towed it home, tested the fuel pump and fuel pump relay. external pump was dead and i couldn't hear the internal so i thought, let's get the new internal... ordered it, began installation of the internal and learned that the internal was removed (common for e30's) and then realized that this and the external are virtually the same pump. replaced external pump and the fuel filter... from pulling the fuel pump relay out so many times i killed the relay. replaced the relay and we're all good now.

to do list:
rewire aux fan
new control arms with new ball joints
lowering springs
strut top mounts
jerry rig an anti rattle clip on the front driver's brake
fix the fucking speedometer

all of that and it still cost less than a new waterpump and supercharger for the r53

just got some enkei 92's thanks to mike, thanks buddy
pictures later when i give a shit
