Interesting & disappointing given the investment made and relatively good run they've had at the WRC.

Wonder if this reduction will allow more MINI Challenge/road racing action? That would be a nice move (and cheaper for MINI in the long run) to keep motorsports involvement. Probably not - but it doesn't hurt to dream...

Mini pulled out?

probably for the better, they weren't doing great anyways.

Bring back Subaru and Mitsubishi, they had their shit together. otherwise we're left with Ford and Citroen as our only manufactures and as much as i like the Fiesta and the C4. Only one of them is offered in the US and we're left with it in a FWD ecobox form... Audi wouldn't be a bad addition to the list either.

they were doing fine in the beginning when the program was run by Prodrive and they had top notch drivers.

but for some reason BMW/MINI and Prodrive couldn't see eye to eye and MINI switched factory backing to a low-rent team. Sordo (one of the original drivers) still competed and still was in the top 5 during his races.

Several articles make it sound like an agree to disagree situation.

Prodrive continues to support the platform, and BMW continues to work the motor.
