Thanks!

This is almost exactly the initial plan. Clubman handlebars, and relocated license plate, except I just want to get rid of the rear fender all together instead of minimizing it.

Ok, I got the front fender back on after hammering out some dents. I've noticed it has been leaking more and more oil ever since I drove it to work a couple of times, so I'm going to drop it off at a mechanic to give it a good look over to see what he thinks.

I'm surprised you don't have clubman bars and a rear fender delete on this thing yet! Hopefully the oil leak isn't anything too major!

I'm having too much fun riding it around haha. Actually I'm waiting for Krista's Clubman to come in before I start tearing into it. We're down to one car plus the bike and I don't want to take the bike out of commission in case I need to ride it to work again.

No matter where the leak is, chances are it will be cheap to fix. Used parts are in abundance. I got a spare front fender (I needed the hangers) for $20 on ebay, lol.

Not much of an update, but pre-ordered a new helmet

I've also been compiling parts to upgrade the front end. I've got forks, brake calipers, the wheel / hub, and lower triple from an early GL1000. I also got a new upper triple and new gauges for Christmas. I'll try to take pics of everything tonight

Sweet! I'm waiting on my Biltwell helmet to arrive. That one is slick looking!

It's pretty similar to the biltwell helmet, but better designed (and more expensive). Better ventilation, better materials, flip up lid, etc etc. We'll see how it works I guess. I love my Custom 500 and this should be considerably better than that.

Yeah, the style is pretty similar, but the materials and finishing touches on that are amazing. Hopefully one day I'll be able to ride down for a weekend when we've both made some more progress on our CB's.

I am seriously in love with this jacket.

It would be a perfect fit for riding to work (banker).

So my brakes need to be cleaned quite a bit...

Any ideas on what is safe to use here? My brake cleaning fluid is virtually useless at getting this rust off. Is it safe to soak the calipers in the cleaning fluid?

Gold or Candy Red get my vote for the color.

Great bike, buddy of mine had (probably still does - need to ask him) one since high school. Ran like a Swiss watch forever with nominal maintenance.
