well...once again MOTD went by way too fast. I may have bitched entirely too much about how things have changed but I still have fun and the last 2 nights made it all worth it. It was great seeing everyone and catching up. I"m seriously not ready to go back to work tomorrow.

Default The Juducullah Stone (Rock)

So Tina and I always "do our own thing" with the drives and such when at the Dragon....This year we went to visit the "Juducullah Rock" near Sylva. I heard about this ancient petroglyph site from the History Channel (love it!) and a show called "America Uncovered" with Scott Wolter.

He's a forensic geologist that goes around to all these ancient sites in America trying to prove his theories about who or what got to America before Columbus....

He did a show about this ancient petroglyph sites in NC and other places, saw one was near enough to the Dragon, so we went...very nice drive, the rock was very cool, (you could "feel" it was old) and a gas station near there had premium (93octane) with no ethanol!

Anyway here's a few shots...

the rock is incredibly weathered and nothing protects it from the elements, supposed to be at least 2 or 3 more near there, but have been lost to time, neglect, etc,
the last picture is from the 1930s when they filled all the glyphs with chalk to make them standout more

Very cool! We actually did some drives this year which contributed to the week flying by.
I'm actually debating on being a vendor next year, it would be fun to do that again, it would be with my art this round and not much MINI themed stuff although I might attempt a few designs
