So Candie, how did you get it removed? Any special tools? BFH? Prybar? Inquiring minds want to know! I hate my stock knob...

The knob is a tricky one - because I've heard many people hit themselves in the face.. I don't like my stock knob either, but then they wanted it a bit retro, and so you have it..

Just do what I did once at an SCCA autocross in my old Bimmer. Shift really badly while gripping the knob really hard and watch it sail into the backseat.
