^ I always love photos like that one. I seem to prefer taking more like that cause my pictures of the whole object never seem to come out so well. haha

^^^ What sort of settings are you using to get the background blurred like that? Or is it a photoshop job?

Focal Length: 50.0mm
Exposure Time: 0.033 s (1/30)
Aperture: f/1.8

your aperture is what is making everything out of focus correct? The lower the aperture the more out of focus background objects are, right?

pretty much, the lower the aperture the depth of field is smaller. Or you can use a zoom lens to get the same (blurry) effect if you don't have a lens that has a low aperture setting like the 1.8, but you need the extra distance to shoot. That photo was taken less than a foot away.
