It's hard to say, everything inside the F56 feels considerably larger than the R56 but the seats look a lot like the previous gen recaros, so maybe?

Agreed.

Overhang front and rear still bothers the living hell out of me though

Andrew, you need to contract your work with BMW / MINI design department.... They are starting to drift off target IMO....

damnit rally, that just makes me sad.

The overhang has actually grown on me now though, I think I like the new design (cooper, not s) better than the R56 at this point.

The brand is losing me....and that's saying a lot considering I've never driven anything since getting my license besides a MINI. They're letting go of what MINI (Mini) meant

The F56 still isn't growing on me. It's tolerable, but I don't like it.

I have to agree, I'm holding onto my R53, Just broke 50k miles yesterday and I enjoy driving it everyday. I don't think I can even contemplate a new mini. They are not the same anymore in my opinion. Only upgrade would be to a countryman so I can cart the family around.. But I still could not let my mini go..

Same boat here. I've been obsessed with mini since before the new versions even started. They are losing their minds over there, and in turn losing what made mini in the first place. Mini was a small car, agile, fun to drive, and built on the concept of "a wheel on every corner".

I've owned several different cars at this point, and I've realized that there is nothing like a MINI regardless of year. The R56 is not like the R53, and it's not supposed to be. Obviously the same goes for the F gen. I think people are forgetting just how difficult it really is to make a MINI a MINI. If it wasn't for BMW's resources, chances are this car wouldn't be what it is today. Is there truly anything else like it on the road? Something really charming, without being cheesy. Rich and inviting while still remaining obtainable. This isn't the same world that the R53 was born into, and the world has bought into the MINI concept for years now. Honestly i think MINI has done a great job pleasing it's customers, remaining loyal to it's origin, while remaining competitive in the market that many other manufacturers have entered.
