Had a minor set back. Due to the placement of the turbo the height difference between the sump and the turbo is limited. I knew this would potentially be a problem also because of relatively high crank case pressure. Well it turns out this is the case. So the turbo oil output will have to be scavenged.

I had been wondering about that when you decided to do a low mount. The custom manifold cars that are sprinkled around all posed different questions as far as fitment compatibility. what kind of scavenge pump will you use? I have been keeping track of your progress in hopes to possibly recreate the setup in an ewg setup if it works well. My log style ewg setup is very prone to cracking under heavy abuse. Before anyone questions the construction quality the mani was made with 5/8 thick header flange and schedule 10 ss piping. it has been recreated twice to combat this to no avail by different people

Basically the old porsche setup. So a little drip tank underneath the turbo and scavenge from that. Mocal has a nice little scavenge pump that is designed for this. With a ball bearing turbo you don't need a lot of oil. Too much will actually kill it.
Log style setups are not ideal. The stresses created are far higher compared to an equal length header.

It's still alive, sort of
![]() Took it to the ring. First lap was good, second one the alternator died. Had to tow it back to the hotel. Had worse towing vehicles. Thanks to RyanK. ![]() Did manage a good shot in the carousel though. ![]() Left the car at a local garage and they managed to fix it. I picked her up yesterday. So all is good.

It's a completely different car. The boost doen't come on until 4500rpm but it pulls all the way up to 8500rpm so the power band is wide enough to keep it on boost on the track. Above 3500rpm you have the ability to flatshift it. It cuts the ignition when you press the clutch. As this keeps the air flowing you stay on boost.
Handling wise, every rubber has been replaced with a pillow ball. So it's very direct. I'm very pleased with the coilovers as well. The spring rates are about the same as the challenge mini's ran. 680lbs front and 1025lbs rear. Very pleased so far.
