Default thirdlobe's Royal Gray R53

So I am new to the site and figured I would add a journal of my car as I purchased it and as progression goes with modifications. I have had the pleasure of building some fun cars and I am excited for what I have planned for my R53.

Here are some pics of the car from the previous owner:

Here is the car a week later after the stickers are removed and the wash, wax and claybar were done to it:

I have purchased a couple of small items for the car while doing some research on wheels, suspension and components to achieve the correct stance. I am planning on going with a custom set of 17 inch wheels - so its been a bit interesting to figure out.

After this I will be moving on to the engine set up.

Thanks, my next step is ordering coilovers. Trying to figure out the best quality and value to get me to be able to sit low on 17 inch wheels. I am leaning towards BC right now.

Welcome! Always liked that color. BC are cool cause they come with the camber and dampening adjustments but all the guys I know have had to remove most of the spring perches to get it to sit where they want. Not a bad coilover tho.

So I finished picking up the rest of the parts for my Yakima rack for the car, a shorty antenna was added and also a Rob Sgotti shift knob!

I wouldnt say they are better but I have the Megan Euro Street Series coils and I have no complaints. I did remove a collar to get the front down a little lower though but i think it sits pretty well now. They also have front camber plates and adjustable dampening like the BC's. I believe they sell for around $900, so they are a couple bucks cheaper too.

I used to own an E30 and he made them for that crowd so I asked him if he had ever made one for a Mini and he had.

I paid 60$ for it.

This is my first performance part.. I had to buy it because my friends actually owns part of Comptech so I was all smiles when I was able to pick this up. At a fraction of the cost as well.
