RT-215 is no longer in production, but you should still be able to find some lying around. Its successor, the RT-615, will be available in 215/45-16 in 2nd quarter 2006.

215/45-16 will fit, but the sidewall will stick out further than the width of the rim, like Travis' car.

No R-compounds until you lower your car! MINI Challenge cars regularly go up on two wheels on R-compounds, and they're lowered. R-compounds on your SUV would be a recipe for a rollover!

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 is great if you wanna pay $131 per tire.

I've heard some good things about the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport, but I can't vouch for it, personally.

The Kumho Ecsta SPT is supposed to replace the 712 once it reaches the end of its production cycle. It's supposed to be a more capable tire, despite better treadwear. Rally might have some impressions on it, as he's been running it for awhile now.

Yeah, I'd say wait for the RT-615's(if your tires will last that long). My friend who always used the RT-215's just got a set of 615's and he loves them.
