I built one of these (similar as it was an air cooled RD400) in my second floor apartment when I lived in Fla back in 1981. I got some stains on the carpet. ;-) Had that exact look when I was done. Been waiting to see this pop up here.

No. I lost all my "memorabilia", photos and what not in a massive fire. I guess it's why I treasure my photos so much now. The guy that used to do the glass work on the race bikes did mine. I can only remember that he was somewhat insane and would keep me on the phone for an hour or so, and back then you paid for long distance calls. LOL

Damn, that's a shame. That's a heavily modded frame, right? It doesn't look like a bike that could be easily replicated.

I love the tail design and how it's so well proportioned to the size and shape of the tank. I also love the oil tank. Very sleek.

Yes, that is a factory bike I believe. Mine was still on the RD 400 frame so it was not as refined, now that I look back. I was searching Google images to see if I could find it out there somewhere. A couple that could almost be it. But in doing that search it made me realize that the factory bike was something that was a hard thing to replicate, being that it was that early TZ frame (I think) Mine was more like this I guess. Not as similar as it had become in my memory.
