How do you get the lighting swoosh on the rear latch?

it does look odd but I bet the picture looks worse without that second or reflected first light

More than likely the lighting that you're perceiving from the front is actually a white gradient at the top right corner of the image and a black gradient at the top left.

I'd bet that if you saw the original, the majority of the background would be white from the studio setting and the darkness was added for dramatic effect.

It looks so natural, like the car is on a street with fog concealing everything else.
