It all started in the beginning of May '08. I was looking for a new car as my Opel Tigra was falling apart. What to get? My first idea was a 3 series bimmer. But the problem was if I wanted something fast it would cost me a fortune. So why not a mini.
I booked a test drive with a Cooper S. And when I took it for a spin I was sold. It tried to kill me off the line with it's torque steer. I almost ended up in a ditch, but I like my cars with a little bit of madness ![]() So I got all the brochures en started going through the option list. This is what I came up with: Model: - Mini Cooper S MF71 Color/Upholstery: - Dark Silver Metallic - Leather Punch Carbon Black Options: - Automatic start/stop - DCS III - Sport suspension - LSD - No badges - Chrome Line interior - Black roof - Chrome mirror covers - Tinted glass - Center arm rest - Color line dark gray - Roof lining dark gray - Interior panels brushed alloy - Sport button - Bi-Xenon - Automatic air conditioning - Navigation professional - Speech control - Hifi sound system - Bluetooth handsfree kit with USB audio interface - White turn signals - Chilli package Accesorees: - Full JCW Aero - R113 black/polished This is how I got it without the Aero (back order) in the beginning of August: In the last few months a few things got changed: - Lowered 3cm - 15mm spacers - Black mirror covers - Black belt line - Aero - m7 Splitter - JCW Stage I tuning (207bhp/295Nm (A bit more then the brochure states ![]() And this is how it looks today: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There is a nice todo list, but all in due time ![]() Last edited by ducks; 02-15-2009 at 03:05 PM.. |

MF71 is the factory model number. I believe that the US counterpart is MF73 for example.

Today was the day. I was going to mount the m7 diffuser. It was -1 centigrade outside but the sun was shining so why not. But what the f***. It doesn't fit. For some reason the rear bumper mount on the m7 car is different on my car. No way it's gonna fit. So I checked realoem to see if the US spec cars have a different bumper mount, but it's the same as mine
![]() Oh well, at least I got to stay inside and not freeze my ass off ![]() |

It's part nr 1. On the m7 car it has an extra ridge on the underside that my car doesn't have. The clamps for the diff are mounted on that ridge. |

what's the importance of that piece? does it do anything structurally for the car? looks like you can just cut it
