Shweeet. Any pictures of it making tornadoes?

Snip's 08-02-2015 04:17 PM

Nope... Has to catch a seafaring boat.... And they don't wait if you are running late...
Sent it to the powder coater ASAP...
Was too big for the baking oven so it was spray painted instead...

They all work.... I've made about 10 of these things.... But this was by far the biggest... It was a monster...

MtyMous 08-02-2015 11:59 PM

Pretty awesome, still.

MtyMous 09-10-2015 03:13 AM

I dunno... the bar in that picture looks to be perfect height...

*rimshot*

But seriously, that's fine work. I wish I had your skill.

Just finished up with some "Bike Racks", made out of 1/2" mild steel. These will go out in the parking lot of a new restaurant in Columbus called "Sweet Carrot"... They plan on letting them rust naturally...

That is really cool. Would be interesting if they did something different to the greens so just the carrot rusted.

I'm curious. Do you do most of your own design work, or do you build mostly to spec? I'm sure there is always some fabrication on the fly either way, but your stuff is more than metal work. It's incredibly creative design work translated into metal.

Very few projects are built to spec. Everything done in my shop would be classified as custom work. The client provides an overview of what is wanted and then I take that info and generate a proposal that almost always includes specific drawings that I generate.

I've been slammed with work all year, business has really been tremendous....

The last restaurant project (Sweet Carrot), I was involved with just opened...

Made the galvanized metal fascia that runs around the edge of the roof. The owner wanted the shiny galvanized finish to look old. I showed her how to apply copper sulfate to the finish... Instant old...

Here are the bike stands out front...

Did the galvanized countertops and round tables with the same finish...
Also did the drooping carrot light fixture above the cash register....

The owner has just started work on the next restaurant and wants to include me in that project...

Seriously good work, no wonder you are slammed with business. Thanks for sharing .
