Default House of Pininfarina

Sergio Pininfarina, who ran the famous Italian automotive design company of the same name for 40 years, has died after a long illness. He was 85.

You have seen his work, some of the most iconic cars were penned by the house of Pininfarina.

61 Ferrari 250 GT - Yep, the same one owned by Cameron's dad in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The movie one was a replica.

1st off: RIP Pininfarina, I love your work second to only your pal Enzo.

2nd: The 250 in Ferris' Bueller's day off was a 250 GT Spider California which was not designed by Pininfarina. The 250 GT California SWB in FBDO was designed and built by Scaglietti. The 250 designed by Pininfarina was the 250 GT Coupe Pininfarina which looked like this:

The man changed my life... his vision wrapped in performance and passion no other car has ever shown me. I'll never forget my first ride in an F40 as a boy... It mind as well have been a damn spaceship. Then as a young man in his late teens sitting in an F50. Pure excellence. I still wait for the day I get to drive one...

Thank you... I celebrate your life and raise a glass.

I'm sure I will be corrected, but I believe the quote from Alec Issigonis was to Mr. Pininfarina:
"The cars you design are like ladies clothes, out of fashion within two years, while people will still be driving minis around long after I'm gone"

Still many beautiful cars and concepts from Sergio, sorry to hear of his passing.
