Default Ever wreck and live to tell the tale?

My wreck 6-13-09 walked away with a few scratches and seatbelt brusing.

Holy Poop. That's pretty intense. Care to share the details? Did it roll a few times or just flip and skid? Ans are you parting the car out or anything? Either way... yikes.

It was heavy rain 7am monday morning only doing about 55 on I-65 just south of Birmingham, Al. A large truck pulled into my lane I let off the gas to put some distance between us I started to hydroplane, my back end swung around the last thing I saw was the cars behind me through my front window. . . my eyes were close at this point. . .skidded off the road tire dug into the mud on the side of the highway flipped, I think only onece, skidded upsidedown into a concrete drainage ditch filled with water, and somewhere along the way i took out a road sign. . . .

Glad you made it with just a few scratches
Poor MINI though

But yes, I totalled my first MINI too and could walk away.
The seatbelt broke my sternum which kept me 6 weeks in pain at home but otherwise my soon to be ex-wife and I escaped unharmed

Glad you are ok man.

If we are doing wreck stories, I have been lucky to not have any in the MINI. However my first car was a Ford Explorer sport and I grew up in Michigan. Needless to say I had my fair share of crashes in the snow from driving like a moron. Nothing near as bad as that though.

People seemed surprised when I said I was getting another MINI. "Why would you get another car that small after a wreck like that?" they say, then I say "Because I walked away safely, think about the car you drive and what it would look like after flipping over like that." that is usually the end of the conversation

Sorry to hear of your accident, but it looks like your JCW stuck himself out there for you.
I am happy to hear that you walked away with minor issues.
Always makes me feel better to know that the mini is that sturdy..

No time wasted, nice Clubby!
