It doesn't matter which browser is the best, only which browsers people are most likely to be using. I try to stay standards compliant and shy away from fancy garbage. I prefer using IE because a lot of pages display correctly in IE. From an end user point of view it doesn't matter to me whether or not a browser (or a page) complies to standards. I just want it to work.

I'm talking about simple stuff, too. XHTML, CSS, PHP, etc. I don't care about ActiveX or Flash or any of that other crap. I don't want stars or explosions or backwards text. I just want my div centered, kthx.

That's weird that some do ok on here with Safari and others (me) get logged out like every 2 minutes with it. Since I started using firefox, I haven't had to re log in once.

I'm glad I'm not crazy since I have been clicking "remember me" again and again.
Well I might be crazy but not in this particular case.

For some reason i have trouble with Firefox and this site. It will work fine for a few pages and then the pages just stop loading. I have to go over to IE and it is never a problem.

So Firefox locks on your PC on the third page or so of MU? That is pretty weird.

What OS (and is it up to date on patching?) and what version of Firefox? Any anti-virus (or spyware stuff) installed?

I use Firefox almost exclusively for my whoring about on the Web - Mac or PC. Works great for most of the stuff I do (and that can be weird at times as I research software/images/etc.). So I'm curious to see if we can figure out what's up with your setup and why you get the voodoo you do.

Any other websites that give you trouble besides MU? Didn't sound like it but...

I use Firefox on the PC and Safari on the Mac. Both of them will log me out every so often, BUT ONLY if I stop reading, going to the next page, etc. If I follow a link somewhere and come back, it will let me read (usually), but not post without logging back in. Don't know if that helps or hinders, but there it is anyway.

Appreciate the help. Firefox doesn't really lock-up, it just all of sudden can't find the page. It is like it fails to connect. The m|u is the only site that it does it on. It also fails to load pics sometimes from the m|u. I'm using win xp pro fully updated and firefox is 2.0.0.3. I use Symantec anti-virus corporate edition, windows defender and a router firewall
